Steps to Disguise Your Turkey
Follow these simple steps:
1. Print and Color the Turkey Template
Print out the turkey template and color it in. Use crayons, markers, or paint to color the face, beak, wattle, and tail feathers. Pick tail feather colors that will match your football uniform.
2. Cut Out the Uniform Pieces
Use construction paper to cut out all the uniform components – jersey, pants, helmet, shoes, socks, sleeves, etc. Choose your team’s colors or your child’s favorite colors.
3. Attach the Shoes and Socks
Start by gluing the socks to the turkey’s legs, then attach the shoes over the socks.
4. Add the Jersey
Glue the jersey onto the turkey’s body, then add the sleeves on the sides. Glue the contrasting collar atop the jersey.
5. Attach the Arms and Football
Glue the arms in place beside the sleeves. Tuck the football under one arm before fully securing it.
6. Add Helmet and Numbers
Glue on the helmet, then use pipe cleaners to make the helmet bars (optional). Finish the jersey with the number decals.
7. Draw Laces on the Football
Use a white paint pen to add realistic football laces and detailing. Let dry fully.

1. Color in your turkey template.
Print off the free disguise a turkey template.
You can use paint, crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color in the turkey’s face, beak, and wattle.
You should also color in the tail feathers. Choose a color that goes with the colors you want to use for the football player’s jersey.
2. Cut out the paper shapes.
Print out the turkey in disguise football player template, found at the bottom of the post. Trace them onto colored paper and cut out. You can also color the template directly and glue it on.
You only need two numbers, so pick the ones you like best. You could also skip the numbers and have your kids draw on the picture or number of their favorite team or player instead!
3. Glue the shoes onto the turkey.
First, glue the socks over the turkey’s legs, and then glue the shoes on top.
4. Add the turkey’s jersey.
Glue down the jersey, covering the turkey’s body.
Add the 2 sleeves on top, along with the contrasting collar.
Next add the turkey’s arms right next to the bottoms of the sleeves. Before pressing the arms down well, glue the football underneath one of the arms.
Then add the numbers to the jersey or draw on the team logo.
5. Glue down the helmet.
Glue down the helmet on top of the turkey’s head.
Cut a pipe cleaner into 2 pieces, each about 1 3/4″ long and shape them into gentle curves.
Put a tiny bit of tacky glue on each end of each pipe cleaner and stick them to the bottom of the helmet to make the metal bars.
6. Add the football laces.
Use a white paint pen, paint or colored pencil to draw the lace details onto the football.
Once the glue on the helmet is dried, your football player turkey is ready to go!
