An Overview of the Super Turkey

The Super Turkey is a temporary wild creature that spawns only during the Turkey Trial event around Thanksgiving It looks like an ordinary turkey, but with massively boosted stats making it super strong

Some key things to know about Super Turkeys

  • They hit extremely hard and can easily kill unprepared survivors.

  • They take 90% reduced damage from dino attacks and even have high damage resistance against weapons.

  • Killing them rewards special holiday-themed loot like Wishbones.

  • They get very aggressive if attacked, even turning nearby herbivores against you!

Can You Tame a Super Turkey?

The default answer is no – Super Turkeys are intentionally made to be untameable. Their whole point is to be elusive prizes that are hard to kill during the event.

However, there are a couple exceptional cases where you actually can tame a Super Turkey:

  • Using admin commands like “DoTame” will work on Super Turkeys since they still share some code with regular turkeys which are tameable. But this only works if you’re an admin on your own private server.

  • There have been a few rare bugs in past Turkey Trial events that unintentionally made it possible to tame Super Turkeys, but these were always patched out quickly. They’re never supposed to be tamable!

So for normal players on official servers, taming a Super Turkey is impossible. But admins can bend the rules to do it on their own private servers if they want to spawn an unstoppable super turkey army!

Tips for Killing Super Turkeys

Even though you can’t tame them, you’ll still want to hunt Super Turkeys during the event for their special loot. Here are some tips to take them down:

  • Use ranged weapons and firearms. Melee is useless against their damage resistance.

  • Dinosaurs also deal reduced damage, so stick to using your own weapons.

  • Headshot for 3x damage. Focus your shots.

  • Traps can make them sitting ducks unable to fight back.

  • Fight from somewhere they can’t reach like a stone pillar.

  • Lure them into water so they can’t attack.

  • Use lightning and poison Wyverns to avoid their damage resistance.

  • Group up with tribemates to take them down faster.

While Super Turkeys are designed to be nearly impossible to tame, hopefully these tips make taking them down much easier. Let us know if you manage to bag any of these fearsome fowl during the next Turkey Trial!
