Where to Get a Delicious Buffalo Chicken Wrap

Rotisserie chicken, ranch dressing (or blue cheese dressing!), cheddar cheese, red onion, green onion, romaine lettuce, and buffalo sauce are all wrapped up in easy spicy chicken wraps.

Easy buffalo chicken wraps are PERFECT for a quick dinner, and come together in just ten minutes! This is a “small batch” recipe that makes two wraps, but it can easily be multiplied as needed.

There are a million different ways to customize this spicy chicken wrap recipe, so please feel free to completely make it your own. These ingredients are a great base, but you can absolutely swap any of them (like using blue cheese instead of ranch), or increase / decrease any of the amounts to totally make it your own. I also know that blue cheese is usually paired with spicy buffalo sauce, but these taste great with my small batch ranch dressing recipe! You can use either one.

Flour Tortillas: These Jalapeno Cheddar Wraps are what I used for the pictures in this recipe, and they are 12” in diameter. They work perfectly for the amount of lettuce and chicken mixture, but I know it can sometimes be difficult to locate such a large tortilla. Burrito-sized (10″, sometimes larger) flour tortillas are easy to find and are also great for spicy chicken wraps! Any large tortilla wraps, whole wheat tortillas, or low carb wraps are a great substitute! If you have a 10″ tortilla, decrease the lettuce amount to 1 cup, and the chicken mixture to about 3/4 cup so it will fit.

Shredded Rotisserie Chicken: Look for an “original” flavored rotisserie chicken. Some grocery stores offer flavored rotisserie chicken (such as lemon pepper or Cajun spiced), but the added flavor competes with the flavors in these wraps and won’t taste right.

I suggest seasoning boneless, skinless chicken breasts with salt and pepper and grilling them until the internal temperature reaches 165 F if you want to make your own shredded chicken. Let the grilled chicken breasts cool for at least 15 minutes before shredding. (Grilling adds so much flavor to the chicken, and will be perfect for these spicy chicken wraps. ).

Alternatively, any leftover chicken (like cooked chicken breasts or thighs from a previous meal) would be great in these wraps, too!

For crispy chicken wraps, use crunchy chicken strips from the store or leftover fried chicken! The possibilities are truly endless.

Buffalo Sauce: Frank’s Red Hot (original or Wings/Buffalo sauce) is our go-to buffalo sauce, but you can use your favorite buffalo style hot sauce or wing sauce for this recipe! I used 1/4 cup of buffalo sauce for this recipe, but it is pretty mild, so feel free to add more to fit your taste. The amount used in this recipe definitely delivers a milder buffalo taste, so it isn’t too spicy. You could also add a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce to the buffalo sauce for extra flavor and an extra kick!

Ranch Dressing: I always use this small batch homemade ranch dressing recipe, but your favorite store-bought ranch dressing is a perfect substitute. Blue cheese dressing is also a great substitute. You could even get wild and use ranch dressing with blue cheese crumbles in these delicious wraps.

Cheese Options: Cheddar cheese (especially sharp cheddar) is great in these easy wraps, but you could also use Colby Jack, Pepper Jack, Monterey Jack, a Mexican Cheese Blend, or whatever cheese you have on hand!

Red Onions: I personally love the bite of raw red onions, but it’s not for everyone. To lessen the harsh flavor of the onions, you can soak them in ice water for 20 minutes before mixing them into the buffalo chicken mixture. Alternatively, you can omit the red onions and double the amount of green onions for a milder onion flavor.

Romaine Lettuce: Romaine lettuce is a perfect cool, crunchy ingredient to mix with the spicy flavors in these wraps. However, spinach, green leaf lettuce, or iceberg lettuce will work as substitutes.

Want a spicy and flavorful buffalo chicken wrap? This tasty sandwich is getting more and more popular. It has buffalo chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato, ranch or blue cheese dressing, and is wrapped in a tortilla. The buffalo chicken wrap has just the right amount of heat and cool, creamy flavors. It’s filling, but not as heavy as fried wings or a sandwich. Buffalo chicken wraps are easy to find these days at a lot of restaurants. Here’s where to get your hands on this craveworthy sandwich.

Find Buffalo Chicken Wraps at Pizza Places

One of the most common spots to find buffalo chicken wraps is pizzerias. Pizza joints usually have a selection of subs, sandwiches and wraps on their menu in addition to pizza, making them a convenient option for a quick and casual buffalo chicken wrap.

Independent pizzerias like The Food Architects Pizzeria & Cafe in Piscataway, New Jersey offer a variety of specialty wraps including a Buffalo Chicken Wrap with crispy buffalo chicken, lettuce, tomato and creamy blue cheese spread for $14.99. Other local pizzerias will likely have similar options.

Domino’s and other big pizza chains have also joined the buffalo chicken wrap trend. A Domino’s Buffalo Chicken Wrap comes with grilled or crispy chicken, buffalo sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar and blue cheese, or ranch dressing. This is helpful when you’re already ordering pizza for a lot of people!

That’s why the next time you order pizza, don’t forget to add a spicy buffalo chicken wrap as a side.

Check Deli Menus for Wraps

Delis and sandwich shops are another great place to source buffalo chicken wraps. Their wide array of cold sandwich options makes them a natural fit for wraps stuffed with chicken, veggies and sauce.

Some independent delis may have daily or weekly wrap deals with buffalo chicken. Such as Cedar Grove Cafe 50.

Subway allows you to build your own buffalo chicken wrap with your choice of chicken, buffalo sauce, veggies, cheese and dressing. Customize it just how you like!

Other sub chains like Jersey Mike’s and Firehouse Subs also have buffalo chicken wraps on their menus, assembly-line style. Check your local delis and sub shops to see if they offer fresh buffalo chicken wraps.

Order Delivery from Restaurants for Convenience

When you want a tasty buffalo chicken wrap without leaving home, delivery is the way to go. Many restaurants deliver through services like DoorDash UberEats and GrubHub.

A quick search for “buffalo chicken wrap near me” on DoorDash brings up various options depending on your location For instance, results near Edison, NJ include places like Syd’s Delicatessen offering a fried buffalo chicken wrap, Qdoba with build-your-own wraps, and even Applebee’s with a Buffalo Chicken ‘Wonton’ Tacos wrap

Browse restaurants in your area and you’re sure to find a gooey, saucy buffalo chicken wrap from a deli, pizzeria or chain restaurant ready to be delivered piping hot right to your door.

McDonald’s also recently introduced a Buffalo Ranch Chicken Wrap (crispy or grilled) with ranch dressing at many locations nationwide, available for order ahead and delivery. A convenient and affordable option you can get delivered for a quick fix.

Whip Up Homemade Buffalo Chicken Wraps

For the freshest, most customizable take, whip up buffalo chicken wraps at home. It’s easy to poach or bake chicken breasts, coat them in Frank’s RedHot buffalo wing sauce, slice up veggies, prepare a creamy ranch or blue cheese dressing, then pile everything into a tortilla.

I like to use large 12-inch tortillas to ensure everything is wrapped up nice and snug. Load up your wrap with chopped romaine for crunch, juicy cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots for additional texture, and crumbled blue cheese for tang. Adding some cayenne pepper flakes amps up the heat even more!

The great thing about DIY wraps is you control the quality of ingredients and spice level. Play around with different combinations of chicken, sauces, cheeses, crisp veggies and dressings to create your ideal buffalo chicken wrap. Leftover chicken also works great, so you can repurpose your cooked chicken breasts or wings into easy wraps.

How to Make Spicy Chicken Wraps

  • Shred rotisserie chicken in a mixing bowl. To make the sauce, melt the butter in a small bowl and add the garlic powder, buffalo sauce, and a pinch of cracked black pepper. Mix the ingredients well. Pour the buffalo sauce mixture over the chicken, and then toss it to cover it all.
  • Add ranch dressing, chopped pickles, red and green onions, shredded cheese, and mix them all into the buffalo chicken. Add a pinch of salt and/or pepper to taste, and then set it aside.
  • Warm tortillas for 20 seconds in the microwave. Place tortillas on a flat surface. Place a row of romaine lettuce down the middle of each tortilla after you divide it up.
  • Put about a cup of the chicken mixture on each tortilla and spread it out over the romaine lettuce.
  • If you want, you can add microgreens on top and then roll the tortillas up like a burrito to make two wraps. Cut each wrap in half and serve.

Add the ranch dressing and mix. Spoon the ranch dressing into the bowl, and stir to combine everything. It will be a little creamy, a little orange (from the hot sauce), and packed with flavor! If you prefer blue cheese dressing, use that instead. You can also use ranch dressing with blue cheese crumbles in this step if you prefer! And you can always add a little chopped bacon if you just happen to have some.

Build the wrap. Spread chopped romaine lettuce (or green leaf lettuce, arugula, or spinach, or greens of your choice!) down the center of a large flour tortilla. (For this photo, I used these Jalapeno Cheddar Wraps.) Spoon about one cup of the spicy chicken mixture directly on top of the greens.

Add microgreens and wrap it up. Microgreens are optional, but they add a nice crunch and punch of nutrients to these spicy chicken wraps! Sprinkle them over the top of the spicy chicken mixture (if you are using them), then tuck in the sides of the wrap to start folding it into a burrito shape. I fold in the sides first, then roll the bottom flap over the top and roll it up.

Cut in half and enjoy! Wraps just taste more delicious when they’re cut in half. It’s science, so I can’t get into the details of it. But truly, these are so much easier to eat if you cut them in half first. Enjoy immediately, or pack your spicy chicken wrap up for lunch!

To Make a Warm Wrap:

  • Melt butter in a large non-stick pan over medium heat. It’s time to add the chicken. First, mix in the garlic powder, buffalo sauce, and a pinch of cracked black pepper. Add the chicken to the hot sauce mix and cook for about five minutes, until it’s warm all the way through. Add the cheese and ranch dressing and mix until the cheese melts. Then turn off the heat under the pan.
  • Put some romaine lettuce on each of two warm flour tortillas. Then, put some warm chicken mixture on top of the romaine. Cover the cheesy chicken with green onions, red onions, and chopped pickles. Then, roll it up like a wrap. That’s it!.

This is such a great recipe for busy weeknights, especially if you’re a fan of spicy food. If you have someone in your household that isn’t a fan of spicy food, feel free to leave out the hot sauce! You can also check out these Chicken Bacon Ranch Wraps as an alternative recipe.
