What Time Does Raising Cane’s Chicken Open? Getting Those Tasty Tenders Early

With a simple menu and company-owned restaurants, Raising Canes has quietly surpassed KFC in annual U. S. sales, becoming the third-largest chicken chain in the country.

The accomplishment follows a recent winning streak for the 28-year-old company, which has spent the last decade expanding outside its home bases in Louisiana and Texas. Its restaurant footprint has grown to more than 900 locations, up from just over 500 in 2020. Last year, it opened 118 restaurants. About 100 are expected to open this year, with another 200 or so in the development pipeline.

Canes told CNBC that its system sales rose to $5. 1 billion last year, more than double its total in 2021. Last years total was lifted by a 10. 8% increase in traffic, even as consumers pulled back their overall restaurant spending. Canes trails only Chick-fil-A and Restaurant Brands Internationals Popeyes in U. S. sales.

But Canes founder Todd Graves has even bigger ambitions for the chain he started at age 24. He has said that he wants Raising Canes to become a top 10 restaurant chain, with more than $10 billion in annual sales. The chain is ranked 18th – up 10 spots from a year earlier – on Technomics list of U. S. restaurant brands based on 2024 system sales. Canes is inching closer to Graves goal every day. Last year, the chain reported its first $1 billion quarter, and its speedy expansion should further lift sales. It expects to operate nearly 1,000 restaurants by the end of 2025.

The co-CEO of the company, AJ Kumaran, said, “All signs point to us getting there before the end of this decade.” “Were climbing the ladder slowly, but were humble about it. “.

Naturally, steady growth isn’t a given in a market where big names like Popeyes, Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s, and even Taco Bell are all competing for chicken-loving customers. Consumers could also continue watching their spending in an uncertain economy.

Raising Cane’s chicken fingers, fries, texas toast, and secret Cane’s sauce are some of my favorite foods. If you’re like me, you’ve probably wondered when they open so you can get your chicken fix. I’ve done a lot of research to find out the best times to visit my local Raising Cane’s restaurant.

In this article, I’ll share everything I’ve learned about Raising Cane’s opening hours so you can plan your visits and make sure you never miss out on their finger lickin’ good fried chicken

An Overview of Raising Cane’s Hours

Most Raising Cane’s locations are open early in the morning and close late at night, which is great for people like me who really want chicken fingers! Here’s a quick list of their normal hours:

  • Weekdays: Most locations open between 7-8am and close between midnight and 2am.

  • Weekends: Weekend hours vary by location, but many open around 8am and close between midnight and 3am.

  • Holidays: Raising Cane’s is usually open on holidays, but may have shortened hours. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are the only days they are closed every year.

So in most cases, you can get your Cane’s chicken fix early in the morning and late into the night, seven days a week. But read on for some tips to find your location’s specific hours.

How to Check Your Local Raising Cane’s Hours

Arrive Early for the Freshest Chicken

Now here’s an insider tip if you really want the hottest, crispiest tenders straight from the fryer – get there early!

I’ve learned from experience that arriving soon after opening time (like within the first hour) is key for getting the very freshest batch of chicken. Since Raising Cane’s hand breads and fries their chicken fresh all day long, the batches right at open are piping hot and extra crispy.

So if you want Cane’s chicken at its absolute best, set your alarm and get there bright and early. Trust me, the tender, mouthwatering chicken fingers straight out of the fryer will be well worth rising early for!

Plus, arriving early usually means shorter lines and faster service. So you get in and out quicker while getting the best tasting chicken. It’s a win-win.

Late Night Cravings? Cane’s Has You Covered

While I’m partial to fresh-from-the-fryer morning chicken runs, I know many folks get those late night chicken finger cravings. Luckily, many Raising Cane’s locations stay open until the wee hours to satisfy those late night comfort food needs.

Most restaurants close between midnight and 3am, so there’s ample time to stop in for a box combo even after a late night out. And because Raising Cane’s chicken holds up so well, you can order ahead then pick up your late night meal on the way home.

Next time hunger strikes at night, Cane’s chicken is just a short drive away. No need to hit the fast food drive-thru and settle for lower quality chicken. Just head to Raising Cane’s!

Planning Your Next Chicken Run

Hopefully this overview has helped explain exactly when you can stop by your local Raising Cane’s restaurant to fulfill your chicken finger craving.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Verify your location’s hours online, on the app, or by phone before heading out. Hours vary.

  • Arrive within the first hour of opening for the absolute freshest, hottest chicken straight from the fryer.

  • Cane’s kitchens stay open late (usually until midnight or later), so you can satisfy late night munchies.

  • Consider ordering ahead for quicker late night pickup or if you know you’ll be dining during peak hours.

While Raising Cane’s hours cater to early birds and night owls alike, your best bet is checking your location’s hours directly before heading out the door. That way, you avoid any chicken disappointments.

Now that you know when you can get those tasty Cane’s chicken fingers, the only question is – are you a Cane’s sauce drizzler or a dipper? However you sauce it up, just remember that Raising Cane’s crew is always standing by ready to serve you fresh chicken morning, noon and night.

Capitalizing on the chicken boom

Graves founded Raising Canes in August 1996, in part using money from working in an oil refinery and fishing for sockeye salmon in Alaska. The name came from his labrador retriever, Raising Cane. (Hes continued using the name for every subsequent dog he owns; Raising Cane III, born in 2017, is the latest.)

The first Canes location, which still exists, opened at the North Gates of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Then came a second restaurant, followed by many more.

Cane’s menu hasn’t changed much in the almost 30 years since it opened: chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw, and the famous sauce Even its sandwich is simply three chicken fingers with lettuce and Canes sauce on a bun. Canes doesnt plan on changing that recipe anytime soon.

“We do not get into value play. We do not get into limited-time offers. “When people come in through the drive-thru or the front doors, they know right away what to expect,” Kumaran said.

Sandra, 60, a home health aide in New York City, says she eats a kids’ meal from Raising Canes once a week and thinks it’s a great deal for the price.

“I like Popeyes, but I love Raising Canes,” she told CNBC after a recent afternoon visit to the citys Astor Place location, adding that its “just good food.”

Kumaran, a seasoned restaurant executive, joined Canes as its chief operating officer in 2014 after holding similar roles at restaurant company Gourmet Gulf LLC in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Old Country Buffet owner Buffets Inc.

Three years later, Canes named Kumaran co-CEO, just in time for a massive boom in fast-food chicken chains.

Chick-fil-A was finally expanding past its Southeastern stronghold, opening its first Manhattan location in 2015 as part of a nationwide expansion plan. Four years later, Popeyes unveiled its first chicken sandwich sold nationwide, kicking off the so-called chicken sandwich wars and selling out of the initial launch quickly. Upstarts like Daves Hot Chicken, which recently sold a majority stake to Roark Capital for nearly $1 billion, were in their early days.

While the boom in chicken at fast-food restaurants may seem like a recent trend, the obsession has been a long time coming.

Since 1960, U.S. consumption of chicken has grown steadily. In 2025, the national per capita consumption is expected to hit 104 pounds, up more than 25% over the last 15 years, according to data from the National Chicken Council.

“I think its a change in peoples diets and their mindsets,” said Andrew Sharpee, co-leader of AlixPartners restaurants, hospitality and travel practice. “Its still a cheaper alternative than where beef prices are. Its easier on the wallet, and its easier for these companies to execute.”

Plus, chicken offers variety, from the breading to the seasoning to the sauces used for dipping. Diners can visit Wingstop if they want wings, Popeyes for crunchy fried chicken or Chick-fil-A for boneless grilled nuggets.

“Its come a long way, right? Chicken is not this heavily processed, frozen-to-fryer product. Its fresh, battered in stores,” Sharpee said.

In recent years, other chicken players have slowly expanded their menus with limited-time offers and other draws for diners. Chick-fil-A has been leaning into seasonal drinks, like its Peach Milkshake. Popeyes is selling Chicken Wraps for a limited time this summer.

And KFCs menu has become sprawling, from bowls to waffles — a trend that could have helped Raising Canes and its simple offerings gain ground.

In the first quarter, KFCs U.S. same-store sales shrank 1%, its fifth straight quarter of declines. The ubiquitous fried chicken restaurant now ranks as the fifth-largest chicken chain, trailing both Canes and Wingstop by U.S. sales, according to Technomic data.
